Position Accountabilities
- Ensures exceptional service to existing accounts.
- Ensures strategic plans are in place to increase sales through immediate, future, and closeout orders.
- Ensures effective partnering with Demand Planning organization in creating sales forecasts.
- Ensures on-going identification of key retailers and opportunities in each territory and assures that a plan and program to actively solicit their business is in place.
- Ensures new accounts are pursued and secured
- Ensures effective partnering with Demand Planning organization in creating sales forecasts
- Ensures open lines of communication between the retailer, retailer’s Sales Management team, and the division.
Position Essential Functions
- Sell-in key shoe programs and categories (key patterns) as identified by the division.
- Creates sales forecasts.
- Generates PIRs (planned independent requirements), including material and quantity, to capture the initiall pairage estimate from the customer to pass to the factory to allow for factory capacity planning
- Identify key accounts and implement appropriate sales strategies.
- Communicates frequently with retailers to relay information regarding trends, sales analysis, and promotional opportunities
- Utilizes working knowledge of territory and major, viable accounts within territory. Implements strategies that would improve the sell-in of key classifications, marketing programs and product seminars
- Visits prospects in stores and at trade shows and actively develop rapport
- Seeks new avenues of distribution via:
- catalogs
- ready-to-wear shops
- television
- web sites, etc.
- Conducts periodic conversations with key retailers to discuss all aspects of their business:
- key items
- sales trends
- promotions/advertising
- markdowns
- clearance sales
- problems/obstacles
- Conveys ideas and thoughts to Senior Management as it relates to all aspects of our business.
Position Specifications
Educational Preference
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of college and work experience
Experience Preference
- Minimum of 5 years retail and wholesale experience
- Experienced with both field and corporate working relationships
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation experience
- Leadership and people management
- Ability to set strategy and prioritize tasks
- Strong partnering skills; problem solving and analytical skills
